On September 18, 2021, the Church of St. George the Martyr in Simpsonville, South Carolina celebrated the ordination of William Joshua Kimbril to the Sacred Order of Deacons. The Most Rev’d Chandler H. Jones, SSC, Bishop of the Eastern United States, was the celebrant and preacher and presided over the ordination. The rector of St. George, the Very Rev. Paul A. Rivard, presented the candidate for ordination and was the litanist for the day. The Rev’d Stokes Smith, assistant clergyman at St. George, served as the thurifer and Bishop’s chaplain. Mr. William Hamlett of the parish served as acolyte. Several clergy from the local Deanery of Appalachia were also in attendance. Deacon Kimbril is assigned as curate at St. George Church.
