The weekend of June 20-21, 2020 was an eventful one at All Saints Parish, Wilmington, North Carolina. The Most Rev. Walter H. Grundorf, Presiding Bishop of the APA and Bishop Ordinary of DEUS, ordained the Rev. Mr. Erik Wade Wilson to the Sacred Order of Priests on Saturday, June 20, the Feast of the Translation of St. Edward, King and Martyr. The Rt. Rev. David Haines, rector of All Saints Parish, presented Deacon Wilson to Bishop Grundorf for his ordination. Bishop Grundorf preached and celebrated and the Rev. Mr. Kevin Fife, Curate at All Saints, served as acolyte, epistler, and gospeler. The Rt. Rev. Donald F. Lerow, Bishop Ordinary of the Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic States of the Anglican Catholic Church (ACC) and Rector of St. Barbara’s Church (ACC), Jacksonville, NC participated in the ordination. Music for the occasion was provided by Mr. Greg Bell, choirmaster and organist of All Saints, the parish choir, and guest trumpeter, Mr. Stephen Luck. A reception was held immediately following the service in the fellowship house, in honor of Fr. Wilson and his family. Fr. Wilson will serve as Assistant Priest at All Saints and St. Barbara’s Church. He is also continuing his preparation to serve as a chaplain in the United States Military.
The following day, June 21 (Second Sunday after Trinity), Bishop Grundorf celebrated at the early service and Fr. Wilson celebrated the Holy Communion for the first time at the 10:00 a.m. service. Bishop Grundorf preached at both services and received Mr. Scott Bowen as a communicant member of the church at the later service. Once again, the All Saints Choir, under the direction of Greg Bell, provided special music for the occasion. A pot-luck luncheon was held to celebrate the occasion and Bishop Grundorf’s visit to the parish.
