On the Third Sunday in Lent, March 15, 2019, the Most Rev. Walter H. Grundorf, Bishop of the Eastern United States, visited St. George the Martyr Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina for his annual episcopal visitation. Though the COVID-19 restrictions were in the process of getting more restrictive, it was nevertheless a glorious day where seven people were confirmed and five were received. Not only did the Holy Spirit certainly bless the gathering, but the hand sanitizer was flowing as well! Of those who were confirmed or received, Bishop Grundorf welcomed some of Sikh heritage, another of Chinese nationality, as well as folks coming to Anglicanism from both Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox traditions. Father Paul Rivard, rector of St. George Church, writes, “What a privilege it is to serve Christ in traditional Anglican Churches that have such broad appeal for so many!”
