The nominees for election as Bishop Coadjutor of the Diocese of the Eastern United States (DEUS) have been announced. The nominees are:
  • The Rev. James V. Johnson, Jr., Vicar, All Saints Church, Lancaster, Pennsylvania
  • The Rt. Rev. Chandler H. Jones, SSC, Rector, St. Barnabas Church, Dunwoody, Georgia, Suffragan Bishop of the DEUS
  • The Ven. Erich A. Zwingert, SSC, Rector, All Saints Church, Mills River, North Carolina, Archdeacon of the DEUS
Deaconess Deborah Kidd, Secretary of the Standing Committee of the Diocese, released the names of the nominees on June 19, 2019, and writes:

“In less than a month, we will be meeting in Synod for our Diocese. One of the major orders of business will be to elect a Bishop Coadjutor for the Diocese of the Eastern U.S. (DEUS).  These candidates were approved by the DEUS Standing Committee, having met the following qualifications: age 30 or over, one year in the APA, canonically a resident of the Diocese, and in good standing… [T] here will be no speeches given by the candidates or anyone on behalf of the candidates.”

The Curriculum Vitae of the nominees have been sent via email to the registered Clergy and Lay Delegates to the 2019 DEUS Synod.

Clergy and Lay Delegates are encouraged to contact the nominees to further their knowledge of the candidates for election. Deaconess Kidd may also be contacted so that Clergy and Lay Delegates may contact the nominators if they wish.

Bishop Grundorf, Ordinary of the DEUS, has given his consent to the election of a Bishop Coadjutor and has outlined the duties of said Coadjutor here.
