Lay delegates and clergy from the constituent parishes and missions of the Diocese of the West (DOW) of the Anglican Province of America (APA) attended the Diocese’s synod at St. Michael’s Anglican Church, Wilsonville, Oregon. The synod was held November 2-4, 2018. Presiding Bishop Walter Grundorf, and his wife, Mary, were special guests for the event.  The synod meetings and events were held at St.Michael’s Church, the home parish of Vicar General Robert Hawkins.  After Choral Morning Prayer on Saturday morning, November 3, the synod opened, recessing at noon for a hosted luncheon.  A highlight of the synod was Mrs. Grundorf’s presentation on the foreign missions of the APA, reflecting the scope of the APA’s international outreach. After the election of the Standing Committee, Treasurer and Provincial Council delegate, the synod delegates adjourned to Evensong, which was attended by the Veritas Christian School choir and their family members, filling the church to capacity.  The choir performed several selections during the service and were delighted to take part in this classic Anglican service. Later that evening, the guests attended a banquet hosted by the DOW. On Sunday morning, November 4, Bp. Grundorf celebrated Holy Communion and conferred Confirmation and Reception.  After a potluck and fellowship, Bp.
