All Saints Church, in Charlottesville, Virginia, holds an Agape Wednesday night dinner and education classes throughout the school year at the parish. For the winter-spring semester, the boys’ education class, led by vestryman Peter Hujik and parishioner Thomas Fickley, studied Christ’s parable of the sower, and their role to care for creation as given in the book Genesis. The group of a dozen young men then put stewardship into action and have completed two service projects. On April 21, 2018, they mulched the garden beds around the parish and planted flowers. On May 6, 2018, Rogation Sunday, thirteen boys took to kayaks and picked up trash along the Rivanna River, which flows through Charlottesville. The kayakers, ranging from 1st to 8th grade, along with their teachers, were chaperoned by Fr. Sean McDermott, Paul Moruza, Austin Jamison, and David Shonka.
